How Does The Ozzy™ Generates Ozone?

Ozzy works with a silent corona discharge technique. It uses electric discharge to produce ozone by splitting the normal oxygen molecules in the air into single atoms. These atoms then attach to other O2 molecules in the air to form ozone (O3).

 

Once the ozone is produced, it reacts with a pollutant, bacteria, virus, or mold and breaks it down into less complex (and typically less harmful) molecules through a process called oxidation. Ozone that has not reacted with other molecules will decompose into oxygen over time. Ozonation destroys odors and disinfects the air, water, and other materials.

One session takes 20-90 minutes depending on the working mode you choose. Please leave the room when Ozzy™ is working. While ozone is a powerful oxidizer that will eliminate most odors, long-term exposure is not recommended. Please read the User's manual before using it.

One Ozzy is effective to sterilize a room of up to 300 sqft (30 sqm). If you have a larger room, or you want to remove odors from a few places simultaneously, please consider ordering at least 2 Ozzy's. The more pieces you order, the better price!

How does Ozzy creates ozone?

It utilizes electricity to create a corona discharge which duplicates the effect of lightning. This technology employs a special transformer that sends a current to the stainless steel screen on the ceramic plate. As a result, the O2 molecule is split, which then combines with other O2 molecules to create the O3 molecule, or ozone.

How is ozone treatment different from regular deodorizers?

Most deodorizers use a fragrance formulation to counteract odors combined with fragrances to help cover them up. The fragrances used in deodorization will normally leave some residue in the air and on surfaces. Some people find these fumes unpleasant, while those who are highly sensitive may have a reaction. Ozone, on the other hand, is designed to oxidize odors at their source. It usually dissipates in less than an hour, leaving the air smelling fresh, with no residue. In fact, it will even eliminate the heavy smell that can linger from a deodorizer.
